If a game is too dark e. g. beause of Ray Tracing or does not start at all, there could be several possible solutions.

    A video about gaming? Why?

Nearly twenty years ago, I gave a German sermon in a public chapel about video games. At that time, the media claimed that video games were dangerous, e. g. they make people aggressive etc. Indeed, that can be true. Video games can have a very bad influence on people, and esp. games / franchises like Doom and Quake are full of explicit satanism. So to evaluate that topic, I played all shareware episodes of the original Doom and the original Quake. And I read articles and watched videos about other popular games. That old sermon is mainly based on my knowledge of Half-Life 2 - which is still today one of the most successful games. In fact, today - after twenty years - it still has a huge fan base, and an updated version of HL2 with added Ray Tracing (a topic of this video) is already announced.

So, know your enemy. But that is not all. It is just too easy to make video games the culprit why people are violent. So to be fair - and that was the conclusion of my sermon -, I do not say that playing video games is bad in itself.

And a reminder: As a priest, I do not earn money. On the contrary, it costs me money, and several times I seemed to be ruined. In Germany it is illegal to declare yourself a Catholic if you are not part of the Vatican-2-sect, and I was sentenced several times very badly. However, I earn money with my computer skills, and you could rightly exspect that a sys admin (which is my job) does also know how to solve problems with computer games.

But admittedly, the true reason for me to make such videos is to show the Church in the public. The public shall know that the Church exists, and that the Church is also able to evaluate today’s culture - and that includes computer games.
